The rapid development of science requires the world of education to adapt to these developments, including Islamic education. Colonialism and modernity have long viewed the best knowledge and systems as coming from the West. They have neglected the culture, customs, ethics, and knowledge of colonized countries. Yet, much local knowledge, customs, ethics, and culture can serve as sources of science and knowledge. One such source is Nusantara Islam. Nusantara Islam is not merely an entity but also a source of knowledge that can be implemented in human life. Therefore, the integration of Islam, specifically Nusantara Islam, and science is needed. This ensures that Islamic education does not simply follow the current trend, but rather incorporates Islamic educational values. Science is not merely based on knowledge but also contains underlying Islamic values. On the other hand, scientific progress can influence changes in human culture, lifestyle, and education. Therefore, the integration of Islam and science, which in our country is Nusantara Islam, is expected to facilitate a decolonization of knowledge that aligns with the culture, ethics, and customs of the Indonesian people.
